Amadeus
April 28 – May 26, 2013
Press Opening: Tuesday, April 30 @ 7:30pm
in Charles Mosesian Theater

Winner of 7 Tony Awards including Best Play, Amadeus explodes with musical masterpieces and richness of language, harkening back to times of excess and indulgence. Called “triumphant” by The New York Times, this Renaissance drama takes us back to 18th-Century Europe and the tumultuous rivalry between Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri. Falsely befriending Mozart, the jealous and power-hungry Salieri hopes to socially and politically ruin his opponent and inhibit Mozart’s legacy. Jim Petosa (who directed New Rep’s Three Viewings, The Last Five Years, and Opus) directs this engaging drama, in which Salieri questions God for unfairly favoring Mozart.

Sideways Stories from Wayside School
May 17 at 7 pm
May 18 at 1 pm
May 19 at 1 pm
in the Black Box Theater

Wayside School was accidentally built sideways. It was supposed to be only one story high, with thirty classrooms all in a row. Instead, it is thirty stories high, with one classroom on each story! Maybe that's why all kinds of funny things happened at Wayside - especially on the thirtieth floor! An ensemble cast of 3rd-5th graders brings this childhood favorite to life.  General admission tickets are $10 and will be available beginning April 30th through WCT’s website at www.watertownchildrenstheatre.org or by calling 1-800-838-3006.  For more information, visit WCT's website or call 617-926-ARTS.
